Work Environment

As a Physician Assistant in our hospital setting, you will work alongside pediatricians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals in a supportive and collaborative atmosphere. The facility is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and resources, ensuring you have the tools necessary to provide exceptional care. The typical work schedule is Monday to Friday, with a 40-hour work week, beginning shifts at 5:00 PM, allowing for a balanced work-life experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough physical examinations and review medical history to assess pediatric patients' health needs.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as blood work and imaging studies to guide treatment plans.
• Diagnose and manage a variety of pediatric illnesses, including acute, chronic, and infectious conditions.
• Create and implement personalized, age-appropriate treatment plans for patients, focusing on preventive healthcare and ongoing health education.
• Prescribe and monitor the effectiveness of medications, adjusting treatment as necessary based on patient response.
• Maintain organized and accurate patient records using our electronic health record system, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.
• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians about their child's health, treatment options, and care plans.
• Educate families on pediatric health issues, preventive measures, and community health resources.
• Oversee patients’ growth and development, actively promoting healthy habits and preventive care initiatives.
• Participate in continuous education and professional development to stay informed of advancements in pediatric care practices.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on the pediatric population, ranging from infants to adolescents, including patients with varying health backgrounds and needs. You will play a crucial role in creating a comforting and supportive environment, where both children and their families feel heard and cared for. Your expertise will help us address not only immediate medical concerns but also long-term health and wellness goals.

Qualifications

• A minimum of two years of experience as a Physician Assistant, specifically in a pediatric or primary care setting.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Physician Assistant studies, with a Master's degree preferred.
• Current and valid Physician Assistant license (PA-C) recognized in the state of Texas with an active DEA number.
• Strong clinical knowledge and expertise in pediatric patient care regulations and best practices.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective engagement with young patients and their families.
• A commitment to ethical guidelines and a strong sense of responsibility towards patient care.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in a clinical setting working closely with children and families.
• Familiarity with electronic healthcare records and office management software.
• Skills in bilingual communication can be a significant asset, though not mandatory.

Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary between USD 140,000 and 180,000 per year, commensurate with your experience. We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including:
