We are looking for an experienced IT architect who will play a decisive role at both the strategic and technical levels in designing and operating complex platforms.

In this position, you will play a key role in designing the architecture of cloud and on-premise systems, as well as in managing operations and development.

Tasks

Architectural and technical responsibility

• End-to-end responsibility for the architecture of cloud and on-premise/private cloud platforms
• Design and development of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, T Cloud Public)
• Designing Kubernetes-based operational and deployment solutions
• Designing and further developing shared and managed service architectures
• Developing high-level architectures and technical solutions for larger projects, changes, and transformations
• Ensuring high availability, scalability, multi-tenant operation, and security by design
• Establishing and maintaining monitoring and KPI-based operations
• Integrating governance and security requirements (e.g., corporate regulations, industry requirements)

Economic perspective

• Making architectural decisions considering cost, efficiency, and business value
• Balancing standardization and custom solutions
• Evaluating technology alternatives to support management decisions

Professional management and organizational operation

• Professional management of DevOps and System Engineering teams
• Designing operational models, roles, and responsibilities
• Defining connection points between platform, delivery, and operation
• Developing and enhancing unified architectural and operational principles

Stakeholder management

• Close cooperation with internal teams, customers, and management
• Presenting complex technical concepts in an understandable way
• Communicating decision-making materials and architectural directions

Qualifications

• Several years (at least 3-5 years) of experience in an architect or senior/expert engineering role
• Deep technical knowledge in the following areas:
• Cloud architectures (AWS, Azure, T Cloud Public)
• On-premise infrastructure, network, virtualization, and storage
• Operating Kubernetes-based platforms
• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform / OpenTofu)
• Automation and configuration management (Ansible, Puppet)
• CI/CD solutions (GitLab, ArgoCD)
• Experience in an operational environment (SLA-based operation, incident and change management, managed services)
• Architectural thinking and strategic mindset
• Knowledge of agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
• Structured, documentation-oriented work
• Confident action in technical and business topics
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• High level of independence and decision-making ability
• German language skills at least at B2 level

Advantages

• Experience in security and compliance (e.g., DSGVO, BSI, PSA processes)
• Knowledge of Policy as Code solutions (e.g., OPA, Kyverno)
• Knowledge of service mesh technologies (e.g., Istio)
• Experience in a regulated or telco environment
