Job Description

Job Summary:

The Ultrasound Technologist conducts diagnostic ultrasound examinations using high-frequency sound waves to detect and analyze anatomical abnormalities. They play a vital role in assisting physicians through precise imaging and patient care.

Responsibilities:

• Perform ultrasound procedures according to departmental protocols, ensuring completion within designated timeframes.
• Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures, measuring, and positioning them for optimal imaging results.
• Operate and calibrate ultrasound equipment, performing routine maintenance to ensure accuracy and safety.
• Document and archive ultrasound images, maintaining detailed records for patient charts and quality assurance.
• Assist in image analysis, evaluate technical quality, and process images to identify pathogenic conditions.
• Provide patient education and support during procedures, adhering to safety and infection control protocols.

Qualifications:

• Hold ARDMS and RDMS certifications, specializing in Breast ultrasound or equivalent credentials.
• Successfully completed approved ultrasound training programs and possess two years of clinical ultrasound experience.
• Demonstrate proficiency in cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, and ultrasound equipment operation.
• Maintain current BLS certification and CEU credits, showing commitment to professional development.
• Exhibit strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle high-pressure situations.
