Accounts & Special Projects CoordinatorOur client, a well-established public-sector organization in Chester County, is seeking an Accounts & Special Projects Coordinator to provide accounting, administrative, and customer service support within its finance department.This is a great opportunity for someone with a background in accounting, bookkeeping, or office administration who enjoys a variety of responsibilities and is comfortable working with financial transactions, records, customers, and general office operations.The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, professional, and comfortable handling confidential information, money, and checks.A day in the life of an Accounts & Special Projects CoordinatorPrepare and process tax certifications requested by individuals and businesses.Research historical tax information using archived records and other resources.Scan and maintain tax certification documents and financial records.Process tax payments and weekly disbursement checks accurately and efficiently.Receive and process incoming mail and assist with general office duties.Answer phones and provide professional customer service to members of the public.Assist with front-counter operations and respond to questions or requests.Perform daily accounting and reconciliation activities related to designated programs.Coordinate licensing activities for small games of chance and bingo, including communication with state agencies.Assist with a variety of departmental projects and office initiatives.Provide backup support for daily closing procedures, including cash drawer reconciliation and securing financial materials.Maintain accurate and organized records while handling confidential information.Assist with other accounting, administrative, and special projects as needed.Requirements for the Accounts & Special Projects CoordinatorAssociate degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field.2+ years of general office or administrative experience.2–3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.Experience with accounts receivable, payments, reconciliations, or cash handling.Government or public-sector finance experience.Experience working in a customer-facing administrative or financial environment.Experience with accounting software or financial management systems.Experience with PeopleSoft is a plus, but not required.
