Accounting Manager – Manufacturing

Location: Approximately 15 minutes north of Rocky Top, TN

Green Meadows Partners is recruiting for an experienced Accounting Manager for an immediate opening with a growing manufacturing organization located approximately 15 minutes north of Rocky Top, Tennessee.

This is a hands-on accounting leadership role for someone who understands the financial side of manufacturing operations—particularly cost accounting, inventory, plant financials, and operational performance . You'll work closely with plant leadership and the Controller to provide meaningful financial insight, strengthen processes, and support continued growth and improvement.

What You'll Do

• Manage inventory cost accounting, including inventory quantities, costs, reporting, and optimization
• Partner closely with plant leadership to analyze financial and operational performance
• Analyze profitability, productivity, expenses, and variances to identify opportunities for improvement
• Support annual production planning and development of cost standards
• Manage month-end reconciliations, closing processes, and monthly accruals
• Develop and improve costing and financial reporting processes
• Maintain internal controls, accounting policies, and process documentation
• Prepare financial reports and ad hoc analyses for leadership
• Help align operational and financial goals across the plant
• Serve as a primary point of contact for external financial auditors
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across the operation

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 5–10 years of accounting experience within a manufacturing environment
• Strong knowledge of cost accounting, inventory, and manufacturing financial processes
• Experience working directly with plant operations and plant leadership
• Strong ERP/accounting systems experience
• Demonstrated progression in responsibilities throughout your career
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to dig beyond the numbers and understand the "why"
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage competing deadlines
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• CPA or CMA preferred, or willingness to pursue certification
