ABOUT THE ROLE

A compassionate and experienced Memory Care Nurse is needed to support residents living with memory loss in a dedicated senior living community. This role provides direct nursing care while offering day-to-day guidance to care staff to ensure residents receive safe, respectful, and person-centered support.

The ideal candidate is a licensed nurse who enjoys both clinical work and mentoring caregivers in a collaborative care environment.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Memory Care Nurse is responsible for assessing resident needs, delivering and overseeing nursing care, and supporting compliance with clinical policies and regulatory standards. This position provides hands-on care to residents and offers direct supervision and guidance to CNAs and Resident Assistants.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assess resident conditions and provide nursing care in accordance with individualized care plans

• Administer medications and treatments as ordered by physicians and in line with nursing standards

• Monitor resident health status and communicate changes to appropriate clinical or community leadership

• Provide daily guidance and oversight to CNAs and Resident Assistants to ensure quality care delivery

• Support staff training, coaching, and performance feedback related to resident care

• Ensure resident rights, dignity, and person-centered care practices are consistently maintained

• Complete and maintain accurate clinical documentation, including admission assessments and ongoing evaluations

• Respond to medical emergencies following established protocols and procedures

• Address resident, family, and physician concerns and escalate issues as appropriate

• Support residents and families with advance directives and end-of-life care with compassion and professionalism

• Participate in quality improvement activities and required clinical meetings

• Attend required in-service training, including infection control, safety, and orientation programs

• Follow and promote safety practices and infection control standards

• Identify and report safety hazards or infection control concerns promptly

• Perform other related duties as assigned

SUPERVISION & COLLABORATION

• Provide day-to-day oversight and direction to CNAs and Resident Assistants

• Collaborate with community leadership and clinical partners to ensure coordinated care

• Assist with staffing decisions and performance discussions in coordination with management and HR

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum of three years of nursing experience in senior living, long-term care, or a related healthcare setting

• At least one year of experience providing guidance or supervision to care staff preferred

• Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and communication skills

• Ability to balance hands-on nursing care with team support responsibilities

LICENSURE & REQUIREMENTS

• Current, valid nursing license (LVN/LPN or RN, as applicable)

• First Aid and CPR certification

• Successful completion of required background clearance
