Field Supervisor

Full Time Field Supervisor – Underground Utility Locating (Saint Paul, MN) We are hiring a Full Time Field Supervisor to manage the day‑to‑day work of a team of Locators. The supervisor trains staff and serves as the subject‑matter expert on locating underground utilities for the main function of the project. The supervisor works with the team to ensure quality and efficiency, resolves customer and employee issues, and assists the Contract Manager or Regional Manager in coordinating all project phases. Responsibilities include reporting inventory and addressing any customer or contractor questions. Responsibilities Ensure all route schedules or ticket schedules are completed as planned. Recommend adjustments to ledgering and sequencing of meter routes to improve efficiency and reduce costs. Resolve customer issues and answer questions according to Olameter policies. Escalate to Regional or Contract Manager when necessary. Provide upper management with daily reports. Provide input about staff performance. Assist manager in hiring, discipline, and termination processes. Perform route locating as needed. Assist in workers’ comp and safety investigations when required. Perform all other duties as assigned in accordance with the specific project. Requirements Valid driver’s license. Subject to random drug testing in compliance with DOT guidelines upon employment. Ability to work overtime when duties cannot be performed within a normal schedule. High School Diploma or equivalent. Two (2) or more years’ experience as a Locator. Previous supervisory experience (helpful). Strong organizational skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to teach and train others in advanced meter reading, technician or installation skills. Computer skills: Microsoft Office and ability to retrieve and enter information into a handheld device or computer database. Working Conditions and Hours Outdoor work environment. Driving company vehicle to and from work sites. Normal working hours: 7:30 am–5 pm, Monday through Friday; weekend work may be required. May be required to walk up to 10–15 miles daily on unpaved or rough terrain. Physical duties: lift up to 50 lbs unassisted, walk, kneel, twist, turn, stoop, reach, bend; get in and out of vehicle. Exposure to unknown hazards such as dogs, burn or electrocution hazards, or natural gas fumes. Knowledge and Abilities Successfully complete the company’s training program and pass applicable written and field tests. Develop a general knowledge of state and local damage‑prevention regulations. Learn and apply safety measures related to motor vehicle operation and other field‑related matters.
