Material HandlerThe Material Handler is a frontline manufacturing support role responsible for the safe and timely movement of raw materials, work in process, and finished goods throughout the manufacturing facility. This position plays a critical role in supporting production operations by ensuring materials are staged, delivered, and removed efficiently while maintaining safety, quality, and housekeeping standards.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesReceive, inspect, and verify incoming raw materials and componentsTransport materials to production lines, work cells, or storage areas according to production schedulesLoad, unload, and stage materials using pallet jacks, carts, forklifts, or other material handling equipment (as certified)Remove finished goods, scrap, and recyclable materials from production areasAccurately label, scan, and track materials using inventory or manufacturing systemsPerform routine material counts and assist with cycle counts as neededMaintain organized, clean, and safe material storage and staging areasFollow all manufacturing safety requirements, including lockout/tagout awareness, PPE use, and proper lifting techniquesSupport lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiativesCommunicate material shortages, damages, or delays to supervisors and production teamsComply with all quality, safety, and housekeeping standardsPerform additional duties as assigned to support manufacturing operationsQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent preferredPrevious experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferredForklift or powered industrial truck experience preferred (certification required or willingness to obtain)Ability to follow production schedules, work instructions, and safety proceduresBasic math, reading, and documentation skillsExperience with inventory systems or scanners a plusManufacturing plant or production facilityAbout UsABM (NYSE: ABM) is one of the world's largest providers of integrated facility, engineering, and infrastructure solutions.
