Join a specialized fabrication team that builds and assembles custom security solutions for ammunition and explosives used by the US military. In this role, you perform MIG, Stick, Flux core, and TIG welding on mild steel and aluminum, and use plasma cutters and track torches to cut and prepare materials for high-quality, precision weldments.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate and assemble metal components for custom security solutions according to engineering specifications and project requirements.
• Perform MIG, Stick, Flux core, and TIG welding on mild steel and aluminum, ensuring strong, clean, and structurally sound welds.
• Read and interpret blueprints, including welding symbols, to determine material requirements, dimensions, and welding procedures.
• Use plasma cutters and track torches to cut materials accurately to size and shape, following safety and quality standards.
• Fit and position components prior to welding to maintain proper alignment, tolerances, and structural integrity.
• Grind welds and surfaces to achieve required finishes, remove imperfections, and prepare parts for final assembly or coating.
• Inspect completed welds and fabricated assemblies for quality, accuracy, and compliance with specifications.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, following safety protocols when operating welding equipment, torches, and cutting tools.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and project deadlines.
• Demonstrate a strong work ethic and positive attitude, consistently showing reliability and attention to detail.

Essential Skills

• Proven MIG welding experience, including Flux core or pulse MIG processes.
• TIG welding experience on mild steel and aluminum.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, including welding symbols.
• Hands-on fabrication experience, including fitting and assembly of metal components.
• Experience using grinding equipment and torches in a fabrication environment.
• Proficiency with plasma cutters and track torches for cutting material.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and professional attitude in a production setting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience as a MIG welder in a fabrication or industrial environment.
• Previous work with custom or security-related metal fabrication projects.
• Comfort working weekend shifts and overtime when needed.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a small, close-knit team.

Work Environment

This role is based in a fabrication shop environment with a weekend shift schedule of 5:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Friday through Sunday. You work with welding equipment (MIG, TIG, Flux core, Stick), grinding tools, plasma cutters, and track torches in an industrial setting focused on metal fabrication. The environment is hands-on and production-oriented, with an emphasis on safety, precision, and teamwork. Dress typically aligns with standard fabrication shop attire, including appropriate protective gear and safety equipment.

This is a Permanent position based out of Bardstown, KY.

The pay range for this position is $55000.00 - $70000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
