As a Medical Laboratory Technician - Processing at IDEXX, you perform laboratory testing that helps veterinarians diagnose and treat pets. In this role:

• You will use automated analyzers, microscopes and other laboratory diagnostic tools to perform analyses and tests that diagnose animal illnesses, injuries and diseases in support of veterinarian animal treatment.
• You will be sorting, counting, inputting data into our computer systems regarding the samples that come into our lab
• You will be working with a variety of clinical samples that come into our lab-candidate must be able to work around blood, urine, biopsy and fecal samples from animals
• This will be a fast-paced, high volume role
• You will perform diagnostic tests on blood, urine, fecal or pet biopsy samples that we receive in our lab by the thousands, every day.
• You will set up and run lab tests, then read and release results according to SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures).

What you need to succeed:

• You possess a High School diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. A 2-, 3- or 4-year degree in a Science-related field is preferred.
• In this position, you will be working to sort, input data and organize the samples that come into our lab
• Organization, attention to detail and being able to learn in a high volume, fast-paced environment will be key to being successful in this role
• You have a positive attitude and love to bring that energy into the lab every day to support your colleagues
• You are looking forward to working in a team
• You concentrate on the details and can work reliably and precisely
• You have a great sense of team spirit and responsibility
• Able to meet the physical requirements that go with working in a lab standing and sitting for extended periods of time, phone & computer use, extended reach, lifting up to 50lb, and specific vision ability close, color, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• This is a laboratory, so there is potential exposure to biohazards, agents known to cause zoonotic diseases, and hazardous chemicals.

• Hourly rates targeting: $24 / hr
• There is an additional $3 / hr shift differential paid for working 3rd shift hours

Schedule:

• The hours for this position are: 11:30pm - 8:30am
• The shift for this position is: Tuesday - Saturday
• The shifts and hours may vary slightly depending on business needs.
• Reliable and dependable attendance is an essential function of the position.
