Speech Language Pathologist

The Blue Mountain Hospital District (BMHD) is located in Grant County, Oregon, at the heart of the John Day River, in beautiful, rural, Eastern Oregon.

As a Speech Language Pathologist at Blue Mountain Hospital District (BMHD) you will have a unique opportunity to work in three disciplines: outpatient, inpatient, and home health/hospice and help grow these programs! You will join rehabilitation and home health departments and work with SLP, occupational and physical therapy services, nursing, and home health aides. In all settings you will work 1 on 1 with your patients and will have time built into your schedule for documentation. In home health/hospice, we own a fleet of vehicles that are available to the part-time and full-time staff.

We are looking for an SLP who is passionate about their profession and growing access to SLP services in Grant County. Our ideal candidate will have experience in each of these settings between their work and/or clinical education.

Speech Language Pathologist will perform duties as assigned for improving a patient's function in speech/language, oral/fascial musculature and structure, cognitive skills, voice, fluency, breathing and/or swallowing abilities to maximum potential. The SLP will provide this treatment per physician's order and coordinate therapeutic activities with the patient, caregiver, and other health care disciplines. SLP will be a part of the interdisciplinary team within Blue Mountain Hospital District's inpatient, outpatient, home health, hopsice, and transitional care programs.

Shift Information: 5x8 Day

Pay Range: $39 to $56

Bonus Information: Up to $10,000 sign-on bonus

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree & Master's Degree
• Graduate of an accredited school of speech language pathology
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certified by American Heart Association (AHA).
• SLP license, in good standing with State of Oregon

Preferred Qualifications:

• Working experience in Home Health, and hospital inpatient and outpatient setting

Facility Highlights: Blue Mountain Hospital is a full service hospital that was originally built in 1949 in Prairie City. The hospital was then rebuilt in 1960 in John Day. In May of 2001 ground was broken for the 7 million dollar replacement facility that was completed in August 2003. Blue Mountain Hospital has been designated a critical access hospital and is licensed for 25 beds. The Medical Center Clinics are housed within the facility and consist of a Family Practice Rural Health Clinic and a General Surgery Clinic. Blue Mountain Care Center is a 40-bed intermediate care facility located in Prairie City. The Care Center provides several options for senior living in Grant County, including 24-hour nursing care, restorative care with rehabilitative services, respite care and adult day care.
