We're seeking a compassionate and energetic Activity Aide to join our team at Allure of Peru, a skilled nursing and healthcare center dedicated to providing exceptional care and a warm, welcoming environment for our residents. As an Activity Aide, you'll play a vital role in planning, implementing, and evaluating recreational, social, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual programs that promote the physical, social, and mental well-being of our residents.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and evaluating activity programs and quality assurance programs for the Activities Department

• Observe resident attendance, mood, behavior, and degree of involvement to evaluate facility activities and resident progress

• Develop and maintain a good working rapport with other departments to ensure seamless daily activities

• Create a warm and welcoming atmosphere throughout the facility, promoting a positive and calm environment

• Assist in preparing activity rooms/areas for scheduled programs, recommending equipment and supply needs as needed

• Maintain confidentiality of resident care information, following facility guidelines and treating residents with dignity and respect

Requirements:

• Experience in Long Term Care Activities Department preferred

• Patience, tact, cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm, with the ability to handle residents of varying maturity levels

• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language

• Basic math skills and ability to use a calculator

• Week days varies between 8am-4pm and 930am - 530pm

• Every other weekend 8am-4pm

Physical Demands:

• Ability to move intermittently throughout the workday

• Ability to cope with mental and emotional stress

• Ability to function independently and work effectively with residents, personnel, and support agencies

• Ability to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times, hostile people

• Ability to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds
