Executive Director
$115k - $135kThe Family Peace Center of Washington County
Opportunity The Family Peace Center of Washington County is seeking an exceptional Executive Director to lead the organization through its next stage of growth, sustainability, and impact. The Opportunity The Family Peace Center brings more than 20 organizations together in one collaborative environment to create a more coordinated response for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and child abuse. Community-based organizations, law enforcement, prosecution, medical providers, and family support services work alongside one another so survivors and families do not have to navigate complex and fragmented systems alone. The next Executive Director will join an organization that has undergone significant transformation and is ready to build for the future. This leader will strengthen the organization's foundation, advance financial sustainability, deepen community and philanthropic relationships, develop the team and operating infrastructure, and align partners around a shared vision for coordinated, survivor-centered care. This is an opportunity for a leader who is energized not simply by running an organization, but by building what comes next. The Role The Executive Director serves as the Family Peace Center's chief executive, organizational leader, fundraiser, community ambassador, and strategic partner to the Board of Directors. The role requires someone who can move comfortably between strategy and execution, relationships and accountability, organizational leadership and systems change. The Executive Director Will Set a clear strategic direction and translate it into measurable priorities and results. Build the organizational infrastructure, systems, and accountability needed for long‑term success. Lead, develop, and support a strong team. Strengthen collaboration across an ecosystem of 20+ partner organizations. Build trusted relationships with community leaders, government partners, funders, donors, and other stakeholders. Lead fundraising and revenue strategy, including major donor and institutional relationships. Diversify revenue and strengthen long‑term financial sustainability. Provide strong financial and operational stewardship. Partner effectively with the Board on strategy, governance, fundraising, and organizational accountability. Represent the Family Peace Center as a credible and compelling voice for collaborative, survivor‑centered systems change. What Success Looks Like The next Executive Director will lead the Family Peace Center from a period of significant growth and transformation into its next chapter of organizational strength, financial sustainability, and community impact. Success Will Mean A strong, sustainable organization: Clear priorities, disciplined operations, strong leadership, and the systems and accountability needed for long‑term success. A thriving partnership ecosystem: Strong relationships and alignment across partner organizations, public systems, funders, community stakeholders, and the Board—with shared priorities and collective ownership of outcomes. A stronger community‑wide response: A coordinated, survivor‑centered system that reduces barriers and improves access to safety, healing, and support for survivors and families. A diversified, sustainable financial model: Strong philanthropic relationships, expanded revenue sources, increased fundraising capacity, and greater long‑term financial stability. Fundraising and financial sustainability will be significant measures of success. The Executive Director will be directly accountable for growing philanthropic support, diversifying revenue, and building lasting donor relationships. The Leader We're Looking For We are looking for an executive leader, relationship builder, and systems thinker who can turn vision into action and bring people together around a shared purpose. You May Be a Strong Fit If You Think strategically and translate vision into clear priorities, action, and results. Build trust and alignment across organizations, systems, and competing perspectives. Lead through influence and relationships as effectively as through formal authority. Balance empathy and emotional intelligence with clarity, accountability, and sound judgment. Move comfortably between Board leadership, fundraising, community partnerships, and internal operations. Thrive in a lean environment and are willing to step into the work when needed. Bring people together around shared goals while navigating complexity and change. Believe lasting impact is built through collaboration, shared ownership, and strong relationships. Above all, we are looking for a leader who brings humility, authenticity, courage, sound judgment, and a genuine commitment to shared success. What You'll Bring Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; master's degree preferred. At least five years of executive or senior leadership experience, including responsibility for leading people, organizations, programs, or complex initiatives. Demonstrated success in fundraising, donor engagement, and/or revenue development. Grant writing and/or grant management experience. Experience partnering effectively with a governing Board. Strong financial, operational, and organizational judgment. Demonstrated success leading in complex, resource‑conscious environments. Exceptional communication, facilitation, diplomacy, and relationship‑building skills. Proven ability to navigate multiple stakeholders, build consensus, and move shared priorities forward. Experience That Will Set You Apart We are especially interested in candidates who bring experience in one or more of the following: Nonprofit executive or senior leadership. Public, community, or human‑services systems. Multi‑agency partnerships or collaborative service models. Philanthropy, major gifts, fundraising, or donor development. Domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse, victim services, or related systems of care. Washington County or the broader regional philanthropic, government, and community landscape. There is no single path to this role. We welcome leaders from different backgrounds whose experience demonstrates the judgment, capabilities, and commitment needed to lead the Family Peace Center into its next chapter. Why the Family Peace Center This is an opportunity to lead more than an organization. It is an opportunity to help strengthen a community‑wide system of care. The next Executive Director will build on a transformational model, strengthen its long‑term sustainability, deepen collaboration across organizations and systems, and help shape how Washington County responds to violence, trauma, healing, and hope. If you are energized by building strong organizations, developing sustainable resources, navigating complex systems, and bringing people together around work that matters, we would welcome the opportunity to learn more about you. About The Family Peace Center The Family Peace Center of Washington County is a collaborative, multi‑agency center providing a single location for prevention, intervention, healing, and hope for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and child abuse. More than 20 partner organizations—including community‑based organizations, law enforcement, prosecution, medical providers, and family support services—work within an integrated ecosystem designed to improve safety, access, coordination, and long‑term outcomes. The Family Peace Center is both a service hub and a systems‑change initiative, bringing partners together around shared responsibility for creating a more coordinated, trauma‑informed, and survivor‑centered community response. Location & Work Expectations This position is based at the Family Peace Center of Washington County in Hillsboro, Oregon. The Executive Director is expected to maintain a meaningful on‑site presence given the highly collaborative nature of the role and the importance of relationships with staff, partners, community stakeholders, and funders. The role includes local and regional travel and occasional evening or weekend commitments related to Board meetings, community engagement, fundraising, and organizational events.
