Senior Buyer

Always the right career direction.Job Description SummaryThe Senior Buyer reports directly to the Purchasing Manager of Supply Chain and is responsible for procuring supplies for Southeast Health hospital, clinics, Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine (ACOM), Statera Health, Southeast Medicine Shop and Southeast Health Foundation. Assist staff with procurement of goods and services utilizing Southeast Health preferred suppliers. Pursues cost improvement initiatives for financial awareness. Serves as liaison to suppliers, strategic sourcing and key department leaders to generate request in accordance of Supply Chain standards.Job DescriptionEssential FunctionsAdministers request and purchase order process via WorkdayProactively manage and reconcile Open Purchase orders to ensure receiving and match exceptions.Collaborates with Accounts Payable to resolve discrepancies specific to pricing, receiving and match exception.Manages delivery schedules while considering optimum inventory levels for invoice stock locations.Creates and manages returnsAssist Purchasing Manager in establishing business processes to maximize efficiency, speed and accuracy of purchase order volumes.Assist customers in Workday requisitioning processUnderstands the use of Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) and local contractsWorks collaboratively with other department managers and directors to improve purchasing efficiency and processesPerforms other duties as requested by primary manager that do not compromise moral code of conduct or protocols set in place for patient or employee safetySupervised PositionsNoneQualificationsMinimum Education RequiredAssociates degree in business, supply chain management, or accountingMinimum Education PreferredBachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, or accountingMinimum Experience RequiredOne (1) years’ experience with emphasis on basic business, supply chain management, or accountingMinimum Experience PreferredThree (3) years’ experience with emphasis on basic business, supply chain management, or accountingRequired Knowledge/ Skills/ AbilitiesAble to work in a high volume, extremely detailed oriented office environmentTo deliver high-quality customer service (professionalism, patience, and a people-first attitude)Self-starter able to work as a team member and team leader, able to achieve objectives and maintain flexibility in approachStrong interpersonal and communication skills requiring the ability to resolve conflicting interest and obtain cooperationAdaptable and flexibility to changing management protocolsComputer literate in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook plus possess the ability to learn other department specific software programs such as Workday and others.Able to analyze complex issues and problems to create and implement solutionsMust exhibit honesty and integrity as well as demonstrate adherence to rules, procedures and policies.Ability to prepare reports and updates as and when required.Solid understanding of supply chainPerson in this position is required to understand, agree upon and follow our Six Ground Rules:No excuses.We are a team.Bring up your ideas.Poor performance will be addressed.‘That’s not my job’ is not acceptableManage Up.ShiftDayShift Details8:00 am - 4:30 pmFTE1TypeRegularJoin one of Forbes 500 best mid-sized employers in America.Equal Employment EmployerSoutheast Health is committed to provide equal employment opportunity (EEO) to all persons regardless of age, color, national origin, citizenship status, physical or mental disability, race, religion, creed, gender, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and/or expression, genetic information, marital status, status with regard to public assistance, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local law.
