Registered Nurse - Med Surg

Location: Pagosa Springs, Colorado

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: Day shift: 0615 - 1845, 3 days/week.

Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Med Surg Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive care to patients in the Med Surg Unit. The RN will assess, prioritize, and administer nursing care in accordance with established protocols and relevant regulations while ensuring patient education and continuity of care.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop care plans.
• Monitor patient condition and report any abnormalities to the appropriate provider.
• Administer medications and treatments in a timely and accurate manner.
• Document patient care activities and assessments in the electronic health record.
• Educate patients and families about disease processes and treatment plans.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure quality patient care.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to safety protocols.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 5 years of Med Surg or Emergency Room experience required.
• Previous traveler experience preferred.
• Cerner EHR experience required.
• Current Colorado RN license in good standing.
• AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required or to be completed at the next available course.
• Basic computer skills and experience with electronic health records.
