Therapeutic Recreation Assistant (Per Diem) Work under the Director of Therapeutic Recreation. Assist in the development and execution of therapeutic recreational services for all residents with supervision in accordance with federal, state, and local standards. Help ensure the highest quality recreation program is provided. Key Responsibilities Assist in the development of a full range of therapeutic recreational programs and activities for all residents with appropriate concern for residents’ physical and emotional limitations, and individual interests. Ensure observance of religious days, social events, national holidays and traditional celebrations when planning residents’ calendar of events. Utilize community support in establishing volunteer programs and intergenerational events. Encourage resident participation in therapeutic recreational activities. Carry out activities appropriate to resident’s level of functioning. Know and comply with the Residents’ Bill of Rights. Through Resident Council, advise and instruct the residents on issues and changes pertaining to Residents Bill of Rights and their responsibilities. Maintain confidentiality and privacy in reporting of Resident Council minutes and care plan issues. Report immediately to the supervisor all resident grievances and complaints. Foster feeling of self-worth and respect by treating residents with kindness and understanding. Minimum Requirements Ability to provide rotating weekend coverage of recreation activities.
