Clinical Services Manager Who We Are

Lawrence Hall is a Chicago-based nonprofit social services agency that provides therapeutic, wellness, and skill-development services to youth, families, and neighborhoods affected by lasting trauma.

Our Child & Family Treatment Center provides trauma-informed residential care and clinical support to youth ages 6–21. Guided by our core values of Respect, Empowerment, Safety, and Teamwork, our multidisciplinary teams work together to help young people achieve stability, healing, permanency, and successful transitions to less restrictive levels of care.

About the Role

As the Clinical Services Manager, you will provide program-wide clinical leadership, supervision, and direction to the Licensed Milieu Supervisors within the Child & Family Treatment Center. Reporting to the Vice President of Residential, you will help ensure treatment remains youth-centered, trauma-informed, clinically effective, and aligned with agency and regulatory standards.

You will also identify gaps in services, develop partnerships with internal and external providers, and help integrate new clinical and supportive services into residential programming. What You'll Do

• Provide leadership, supervision, coaching, and performance management to Licensed Milieu Supervisors.

• Oversee clinical services from intake through discharge, including assessments, individualized treatment planning, crisis response, permanency planning, family engagement, aftercare, and continuity of care.

• Ensure consistent implementation of the CARE Model, trauma-informed care principles, evidence-based interventions, and individualized treatment strategies.

• Provide clinical leadership and consultation during Core Team meetings, Child and Family Team Meetings, clinical staffings, court hearings, utilization reviews, and other youth-related meetings.

• Partner with residential leaders and multidisciplinary teams to address behavioral trends, safety concerns, treatment barriers, supervision needs, and factors affecting youth progress.

• Identify service gaps and build partnerships with internal and external providers, including coordinating contracts, memorandums of understanding, and service agreements with leadership approval.

• Review and monitor assessments, treatment plans, discharge plans, clinical documentation, and permanent records for quality, timeliness, and compliance.

• Use audits, outcome measures, monitoring tools, PQI data, and Quality Improvement initiatives to evaluate program performance and implement improvements.

• Ensure compliance with DCFS, Medicaid, COA, Rule 390, Rule 325, Performance-Based Contract requirements, agency policies, and applicable documentation standards.

• Recruit, interview, onboard, train, supervise, and evaluate employees while promoting accountability, professional development, conflict resolution, and employee well-being.

• Provide clinical coverage during Licensed Milieu Supervisor vacancies to maintain clinical oversight, documentation review, treatment planning, and support for Core Teams and residential staff.

• Participate in agency committees, accreditation activities, policy development, strategic initiatives, and the agency's after-hours on-call rotation.

Who We're Looking For

Required:

• Must be at least 25 years old.

• Master's degree in social work or a related field.

• At least five years of post-degree professional experience.

• At least two years of supervisory experience, preferably supervising clinical, case management, residential, or multidisciplinary employees.

• Full Illinois licensure as an LCSW, LCPC, LMFT, or psychologist.

• Valid Illinois driver's license, access to a vehicle, and proof of insurance.

• Ability to pass all required background checks and drug screenings.

• No history of child abuse or neglect.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate cultural humility, professionalism, and effective communication.

Preferred:

• Licensed Sex Offender Treatment Provider designation and experience working with juvenile populations.

• Candidates pursuing SOTP licensure or experienced clinicians interested in receiving supervision toward this specialization may also be considered.

• Experience working with youth and families affected by trauma or traumatic stress.

• Knowledge of childhood trauma, adolescent development, positive youth development, and strength-based practices.

• Experience in residential treatment, case management, crisis intervention, permanency planning, or multidisciplinary clinical services.

 

Additional Information

This is a full-time, onsite position based at Lawrence Hall's Francisco Campus, located at 4833 N. Francisco Avenue, Chicago, IL 60625 . Standard business hours apply, with flexibility required for the agency's after-hours and weekend on-call rotation. Periodic attendance at mandatory agency events outside regular business hours may also be required. Flexible scheduling may be available with supervisor approval.

This position requires the ability to use verbal and physical intervention skills with youth ages 6–21. Physical intervention skills include the ability to kneel and return to a standing position without assistance.

Compensation is determined by a base salary for each position, with additional compensation considered based on relevant education and experience.
