Key Responsibilities

As an Orthopedic Physical Therapist at Joint Journey Physical Therapy, your responsibilities will include:

• Directing physical therapy treatment plans to alleviate pain, develop, improve, and restore muscle function for orthopedic patients, ensuring adherence to the established plan of care.
• Overseeing the work of Physical Therapy Assistants (PTAs) in the execution of care plans, providing guidance and support as needed.
• Conducting thorough evaluations of patients' physical capabilities through diagnostic tests to formulate appropriate treatment approaches tailored to individual needs.
• Assessing clients' home environments and recommending adjustments to increase their safety and independence during the rehabilitation process.
• Administering therapeutic exercises, massages, and physical modalities, while educating clients on effective exercises tailored to their recovery.
• Keeping detailed clinical records, including initial evaluations, care plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries, to provide comprehensive patient documentation.
• Participating in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient progress and collaboratively update treatment plans.
• Actively engaging with clients and their families to enhance understanding of rehabilitation tools and strategies for improved outcomes.
• Adhering to compliance standards for documentation and patient care to help maintain the highest quality of service.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your focus will primarily be on orthopedic patients recovering from surgical procedures, injuries, or chronic conditions affecting their mobility and functional abilities. Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess:

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• A current state license for Physical Therapy in Virginia, with good standing.
• A minimum of one year of experience as a physical therapist, preferably in an orthopedic or outpatient setting.
• Current CPR certification.
• A valid driver's license and automobile insurance, as the role may involve local travel for patient assessments.

Compensation and Benefits

Joint Journey Physical Therapy offers a competitive salary ranging between USD 100,000 and 120,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
