Respiratory Therapist (RRT/CRT) – Travel Assignment

Job Summary

Seeking an experienced Respiratory Therapist to provide respiratory care for Adult ICU and NICU patients in a hospital setting. The ideal candidate will have recent NICU experience, strong ventilator management skills, and experience working with a variety of respiratory equipment. First-time travelers are welcome to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, treat, and monitor patients with respiratory and cardiopulmonary disorders.
• Provide respiratory care for Adult ICU and NICU populations.
• Manage and monitor ventilators, oxygen therapy, and airway support devices.
• Perform arterial blood gas (ABG) analysis and interpret results.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Document patient care accurately using EPIC EMR.
• Participate in on-call, callback, and holiday coverage as required.

Unit Information

• Patient Population: Adult ICU & NICU
• ICU Capacity: 12 Beds
• EMR: EPIC
• Scrub Color: Any solid-color scrubs
• Floating may be required based on operational needs

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 15 months of hospital-based Respiratory Therapy experience .
• Recent NICU experience required.
• EPIC EMR experience required.
• Experience with the following equipment:
• • Hamilton Ventilators
  • Drager Ventilators
  • Airvo Systems
  • BiPAP/CPAP
  • Vapotherm
• Active respiratory therapy credentials and certifications.
• Current BLS certification.
• Current ACLS certification.
• Current NBRC credential.
• Current NRP certification.
• Valid Driver's License.

Preferred Qualifications

• Active Iowa Respiratory License.
• Previous travel experience (not required).
• Professional reference from a supervisor, manager, or director within the past 24 months.

• ABL 90 Blood Gas Analyzer

Submission Requirements

• Updated work history/resume showing at least 36 months of Respiratory Therapy experience .
• Respiratory Therapy Skills Checklist.
• Active respiratory license (if applicable).
• Driver's License.
• BLS Certification.
• ACLS Certification.
• NBRC Credential.
• NRP Certification.

Important Notes

• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility location.
• Former staff employees or PRN float pool employees within the previous 12 months may be subject to assignment restrictions.
• Travelers may be required to work 1-2 winter holidays , depending on unit needs.
• Quick interview process via phone call or text. Orientation dates are available throughout the onboarding period.

• Iowa Respiratory License preferred; licensing candidates will be considered.
