Clinical Nurse Coordinator Med‑Surg The Clinical Nurse Coordinator Med‑Surg at Mission Health serves as a key leadership and clinical role on a busy medical‑surgical unit in Asheville, NC. This Registered Nurse is a clinical resource and role model for bedside nurses and support staff, ensuring that standards of care, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements are consistently met. Responsibilities Coordinate and deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered care on a medical‑surgical unit. Collaborate closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, case managers, and ancillary teams to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans. Oversee daily staffing assignments and assist with patient flow, bed placement, admissions, discharges, and transfers to maintain safe staffing and appropriate acuity mix. Support staff with complex clinical situations and intervene promptly to address changes in patient condition. Participate actively in interdisciplinary rounds, communicate effectively with patients and families, and advocate for patient needs while promoting a compassionate environment. Perform comprehensive assessments, administer medications and treatments, interpret diagnostic data, document accurately in the electronic health record, and ensure adherence to infection prevention and patient safety standards. Mentor and precept new nurses, support ongoing competency development, and encourage evidence‑based practice and continuous quality improvement. Track key quality indicators and participate in performance improvement projects to drive best practices and improve clinical outcomes. Communicate care plans, education, and discharge instructions to patients, families, and the healthcare team; respond to concerns and support service excellence initiatives. Qualifications Experience as a medical‑surgical Registered Nurse with a strong clinical background. Strong critical thinking, organization, and prioritization skills. Ability to remain calm and effective in a fast‑paced, high‑acuity environment. Experience in or interest for leadership‑oriented clinical roles.
