Role Description This is a full-time hybrid Insurance Agent role based in Niskayuna, NY, with flexibility for some work from home. The Insurance Agent will advise prospective and existing clients on coverage options across personal and commercial lines, explain policy features, and recommend tailored solutions based on each client’s needs and risk profile. Day-to-day responsibilities include generating new business through outbound outreach, referrals, and networking, preparing quotes, processing applications, and managing renewals. The role also involves reviewing coverage and rates proactively, responding to inquiries, handling policy changes, and ensuring a positive, transparent experience for every client. The Insurance Agent will collaborate with internal teams and carrier partners, maintain accurate records in agency systems, and adhere to all regulatory and compliance requirements. Qualifications Candidates should possess skills in Insurance Sales and Insurance Brokerage to identify client needs, present solutions, and manage policy placement effectively. Candidates should possess strong Insurance and Finance skills to explain coverage, interpret policy terms, and provide informed guidance on risk and cost. Candidates should possess excellent Customer Service skills to build long-term relationships, respond promptly to inquiries, and resolve issues with empathy and clarity. Active Property & Casualty insurance license (or ability to obtain within a defined timeframe) is preferred. Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex information in clear, accessible language. Comfort using modern agency management systems and digital tools to manage client information and workflows. Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment, with strong time-management and organizational skills.
