Shipping/Receiving Clerk

The shipping/receiving clerk checks drivers in and out of the facility, determines what they are picking up or delivering, and communicates this information to the warehouse. They are responsible for keeping the schedule updated, and keeping all original paperwork in order. They are also responsible for yard management and communication between all parties.

Essential Functions

• Checking drivers in and out of the facility.
• Verifying pick up and drop off information based on the driver's information.
• Assigning doors to drivers based on warehouse locations.
• Maintain the schedule for the respective facility and update appointments as drivers check in and out.
• Verifying packing lists and Bills of Ladings for accuracy.
• Examine outgoing shipments and make sure they conform with specifications.
• Keeping original paperwork together to be forwarded at the end of day.
• Forward items to different departments as needed.
• May be required to perform both receiving and shipping activities and be referred to as Receiving Clerk or Shipping Clerk.
• Maintain yard check to share accurate information about trailers located on the premises, and share the information with the parties needed.
• Maintain emails to match up outside BOLs and instructions for specific orders.
• Print out all paperwork for loading, receiving, and unloading.
• Maintain adequate communication with drivers, warehouse personnel, and management team.
• Troubleshoot order issues with customer service team, internal and external customers.
• Close out loads/receipts once completed by the warehouse.
