Industrial Designer Intern

Overview We are seeking a full-time Industrial Designer Intern at Garmin's U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting with the aesthetic and ergonomic development of projects and collaborating with Engineering, Marketing, and Management teams to explore, innovate, and execute world-class designs. Essential Functions Collaborate with Design, Engineering, Marketing, and Management teams to translate project goals into relevant solutions. Explore a wide variety of compelling design options. Communicate concepts and ideas through verbal, visual, and written means. Basic Qualifications Completed coursework in Industrial Design, Product Design, or related field. Excellent academics (cumulative GPA 3.0 or higher as a general rule). Demonstrated digital proficiency in tools such as SolidWorks, Keyshot, CorelDRAW Graphics Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, and/or Sketchbook Pro. Demonstrated interest in designing for one of Garmin’s core markets: Automotive (OEM), Automotive (Consumer), Aviation, Marine, Outdoor / Fitness, Exhibit/Retail/Environmental. Strong and effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Team-oriented, positive attitude, and respectful collaboration with others.
