Set up power tools, equipment and hoses for piping crew Assists skilled Craftsman Pipefitters by performing essential tasks like transporting materials, cutting/threading pipes, cleaning work areas, and supporting the assembly and installation of piping systems for air, gas, water and other piping components. Directed by a Qualify Craftsman Pipefitter to assist in bolt-up, grinding and seals to connect on piping systems. Assist in cut, fit and fabricate all kinds of piping materials, such as carbon steel, stainless steel, chrome and PVC pipes. Identify safety hazards you or other employees may be subject to and take all necessary corrective action to eliminate or minimize hazards. Perform all other job-related duties as requested by supervision. Qualifications Minimum of three (3) years or more in refinery maintenance/turnaround/or construction experience Sets up hoisting equipment for raising and placing structural-steel members. Ability to Load, transport, organize, and unload pipes, fittings, tools, and equipment to the job site. Ability to assist in cutring , fitingt and fabricate all kinds of pipe material. Must be able to measure, cut, thread, and assemble pipes; drill holes; and clean/prepare surfaces for welding or joining. Clean and maintain work areas, remove debris, and ensure a safe environment, eliminating trip hazards. General knowledge of basic hand tools. Hold pipes, position components, and provide general support during the layout, assembly, and installation of piping systems. Must be able to complete the Matrix Service Safety training and Client / Site specific training. Must be able to obtain and maintain an active status within the DISA drug testing program. Physical Requirements Employee will be required to adhere to large amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting and lifting. Will talk and hear to communicate. Must have good dexterity with hands and fingers to perform the precision adjustments of machinery parts and piping systems. Will use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, pull objects, materials, piping and tools. May be required to lift, carry and move up to 50lbs. Will occasionally work at heights, climb ladders and stairways and work off of platforms. Will work at heights up to 300' utilizing proper fall protection. Will use vision abilities to focus, see short distances, colors, depth perception and peripheral vision. Must be capable of working outside in the elements including but not limited to the heat, cold, rain, snow and wind; and must be able to work for long period of times up to 12 hours a day. Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves and steel-toe boots.
