Physical Therapist Assistant Traveler

Internal Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Traveler– Cambridge Healthcare Services

Provides skilled PT services under the direction of a licensed PT, traveling across SNFs to support resident care and facility therapy teams.

Implement PT treatment plans, monitor resident progress, and document outcomes.

Conduct individual, group, and concurrent therapy sessions as appropriate.

Travel between facilities as scheduled.

Collaborate with PTs, facility staff, and interdisciplinary teams.

Support facility therapy staff and promote best practices.

Licensed PTA in California

Experience in SNF or post-acute care preferred

Strong interpersonal and documentation skills

Clinical Excellence: Demonstrates strong clinical judgment and evidence-based practice.

Flexibility & Adaptability: Adjusts effectively to new environments, patient needs, and facility workflows.

Communication & Collaboration: Works effectively with interdisciplinary teams and communicates clearly with staff, residents, and families.

Mentorship & Leadership: Supports and develops peers and local therapy staff.

Continuous Improvement: Engages in ongoing learning and quality improvement initiatives.

Compliance & Accountability: Maintains regulatory, ethical, and organizational standards.

Adapted for PTA scope of practice: adherence to PT plans, therapy session completion, resident progress, staff collaboration

Ability to stand, walk, lift, and assist residents as required for patient care.

Ability to safely transfer residents using appropriate techniques and equipment.

Primarily within skilled nursing facilities, with frequent travel between multiple sites.

Exposure to typical clinical settings and resident care activities.
