Associate Manager - Valet Services - JW Marriott DC

SUMMARY The Associate Manager is responsible for ensuring high levels of client, customer and associate satisfaction at a designated Towne Park location. Key responsibilities include managing the delivery of guest/patient services; hiring, training, evaluating and discharging associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; financial management and reporting; addressing customer complaints; and managing a minimum of two associates. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Ensures that the guest service experience is delivered exceptionally and consistently on all shifts (15%). Allocates labor resources efficiently and reduces staffing levels if business conditions dictate (20%). Engages in recruitment and hiring processes to ensure the best people are selected for the location (15%). Assists the Account Manager in establishing guidelines so employees understand expectations and parameters; conducts regular performance appraisals and provides coaching (20%). Develops cohesive working relationships with the clients’ staff members and maintains regular meeting rhythms (15%). Drives business metrics for forecasting, productivity, claims, customer service, and turnover; ensures accurate revenue reporting and reconciliation (15%). QUALIFICATIONS Education: Associate’s degree or equivalent (preferred). Licensure: Valid driver’s license and clean driving record. Work Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of related hospitality experience. Knowledge: Towne Park’s safety and security procedures, safe driving policies, hot spot and accident reporting policies, equipment training, claim check and ticketing procedures, customer service principles, customer confidentiality (including HIPAA), business writing, basic accounting, and the client’s facility. Skills: Manual transmission driving, computer proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and point-of-sale applications, effective presentation and communication skills, cultural appreciation, analytical skills, professional writing, composure under pressure, courteous demeanor, sense of urgency, and strong safety focus. SCOPES OF AUTHORITY AND RESPONSIBILITIES Performs duties independently with minimal supervision and makes day‑to‑day decisions that impact operational and financial results. Includes hiring, discharging, and disciplining associates; controlling resources available; and executing financial reporting. JOB DETAILS AND COMPENSATION Annual base pay range: $55,000 – $65,000. Eligible for annual incentive bonuses according to classification and policy guidelines. Company‑paid basic life and accident & D&D insurance; short‑term and long‑term disability. 401(k) retirement savings plan. PAID TIME OFF Employees accrue 0.0385 hours of PTO per hour worked up to a maximum of 80 hours per calendar year. Six paid holidays and up to four paid floating holidays per calendar year. WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS Regularly required to talk or hear; sit or stand for extended periods; run, walk, handle objects, and climb stairs. Lifting requirements up to 50 pounds occasionally. Physical demands include sustained balance, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. Work is primarily in climate‑controlled environments, with some exposure to inclement weather and travel up to 10%.
