Job Summary

The Behavior Health Technician provides direct, one-on-one behavioral therapy and interventions to clients in home, clinic, or school settings. Working under the direct supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), you will implement individualized treatment plans, teach functional skills, and record accurate daily session data.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide Direct Therapy: Deliver one-on-one ABA therapy sessions focused on social skills, communication, and daily living activities.
• Implement Treatment Plans: Follow individualized behavior intervention plans created by the BCBA to reduce challenging behaviors and encourage positive replacements.
• Collect Data: Accurately record behavioral and skill-acquisition data during sessions using electronic devices or paper logs.
• Collaborate and Communicate: Maintain professional communication with clients' families, caregivers, and supervising BCBAs regarding daily progress.
• Maintain Environment: Ensure a safe, supportive, and engaging therapeutic environment.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Education: High school diploma or GED required; college coursework or a degree in psychology, education, or related fields is preferred.
• Certification: Must be willing to complete the 40-hour BHT training course and pass the Registered Behavior Technician exam (active RBT certification is a plus).
• Age & Background: Must be at least 18 years old and able to pass a pre-employment background check.
• Physical Demands: Must be comfortable sitting, kneeling, bending, walking, and lifting or carrying items/children weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Soft Skills: Patient, compassionate, dependable, and passionate about helping individuals with special needs.
