Senior Licensing Specialist

Position Summary The Licensing Specialist will play a crucial role in managing multistate financial services licensing projects and facilitating the licensing process for clients. The role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to navigate complex regulatory frameworks. Key Responsibilities Conduct thorough research on financial services licensing requirements and regulations relevant to clients’ industries; experience with lending and money transmission licensing preferred. Collaborate with attorneys and clients to develop effective licensing and regulatory strategies. Provide strategic advice on optimizing licensing opportunities and mitigating potential risks. Prepare, review, and submit licensing applications, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Coordinate with relevant authorities to streamline the application process and address any inquiries. Act as the primary point of contact for clients regarding licensing matters. Inform clients of their licensing application status and provide timely updates. Develop and implement processes to track and manage renewals, amendments, and terminations. Maintain accurate and organized records, submissions, and correspondence for all licensing‑related documents. Prepare regulatory reports for clients and internal teams as needed. Maintain relationships with attorneys, state and federal regulators, and respond to regulatory requests in a timely manner. Assist with other department activities as needed and perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications – Skills & Competencies Provide outstanding client service and meet high quality standards for services, exceeding client expectations. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written), with strong negotiation abilities and solid composition, research, and editing skills. High attention to detail and outstanding organizational skills, with the ability to multi‑task, prioritize workload, and manage time effectively. Ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines and adapt to a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment to achieve business goals and objectives. Analytical with strong problem‑solving skills; take initiative, use good judgment, and demonstrate excellent follow‑up. Ability to work both independently and as part of a cross‑functional, collaborative team. Qualifications – Education & Prior Experience Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Law, Business, or related field preferred. Proven experience as a Licensing Specialist or similar role in a law firm or legal department. In‑depth knowledge of intellectual property laws and licensing regulations. Advanced degree or certification in Intellectual Property Law is a plus. Computer proficiency in Windows‑based software and Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook. Exceptional computer skills with the ability to learn new software applications quickly.
