Team members rotate between the 2 floors and all are expected to work in every area of acuity. We have psych techs who are not CNAs but they do check vital signs, blood glucose and other duties. Their main job is milieu management and patient monitoring. There are lead psych techs who are out of coverage and help with deescalation. Our team lead is in coverage, however, there is either a nurse manager, assistant nurse manager, or house supervisor onsite and virtual clinical nursing support available 24/7. We have a therapy team who works 7 days per week and conducts all groups.Special Equipment:We use ObservSmart for patient monitoring. It is a proximity-based tool that improves safe outcomes. We also use personal panic alarms and public safety in the building.Unit Systems (Medication, Documentation, Communication): EPIC required, Pyxis, SBARScheduling Type: OtherUnit Orientation: 32 hours hospital orientation week one; traveler must be available for classes each day.
