We are seeking a dynamic Director of Rooms to join our team.  A successful candidate will have a genuine passion for the hospitality industry and an entrepreneurial spirit.

The Director of Rooms will assist the General Manager in administering and managing the hotel’s operation, maintaining established cost and quality standards. This person must have an approachable, professional, and upbeat personality with a passion to deliver outstanding service to our guests, creating stories and building and maintaining brand loyalty.   

The person having this position must possess good communication skills, have the ability to resolve conflict and have a thorough understanding of LINE policies, procedures and expectations.   

Because of the fluctuating demands of the company’s operation, it may be necessary that each 
employee perform a multitude of different functions; therefore, as an essential part of your position, you will be expected to help others when the occasion arises, just as other employees are expected to help you. Accordingly, you may be expected to perform other tasks as needed or as directed. 

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

• Lead the overall performance of the rooms division across Front Office, Housekeeping, Concierge, Bell & Door, and Guest Services. 
• Set a clear operational direction for the division and translate brand vision into daily standards, behaviors, and outcomes. 
• Own the guest experience end-to-end, ensuring every interaction reflects the character and quality of The LINE from arrival through departure. 
• Inspire, develop, and hold department heads accountable for service delivery, team culture, and performance results. 
• Drive divisional profitability in partnership with the General Manager, with direct oversight of departmental budgets, labor, and P&Ls. 
• Make sound, timely decisions that protect and improve business performance, including scheduling, cost control, forecasting, and month-end review. 
• Ensure all teams execute service in accordance with established SOPs while responding quickly and effectively to service challenges in real time. 
• Lead daily walkthroughs and room inspections to ensure all guest rooms, corridors, public areas, and back-of-house spaces are maintained to the highest standard. 
• Manage room inventory strategically in partnership with Revenue Management, optimizing occupancy, rate, and room type allocation. 
• Oversee preventative maintenance programs and deep cleaning schedules in close coordination with Engineering and Housekeeping. 
• Direct day-to-day operating plans including scheduling, coverage, and productivity management across all rooms division departments. 
• Maintain par levels for linen, amenities, supplies, and equipment to support uninterrupted service delivery. 
• Manage third-party vendors and contract service providers — including laundry, uniform, and guest amenity suppliers — to ensure quality, efficiency, and brand alignment. 
• Manage divisional spending against the Annual Operating Budget, ensuring expenditures are aligned with business priorities and forecasted performance. 
• Lead the division’s financial rhythm, including forecasting, budgeting, payroll oversight, labor planning, and month-end analysis. 
• Ensure accurate completion of administrative processes including billing, accounting controls, purchasing, and invoice approvals. 
• Build strong, proactive partnerships with all hotel departments — Food & Beverage, Engineering, Sales, Revenue Management, People, and Finance — to ensure seamless guest experiences. 
• Ensure that escalated guest feedback is resolved promptly, documented appropriately, and used to drive continuous improvement. 
• Lead effective team meetings and one-to-ones with direct reports to reinforce accountability, development, and alignment. 
• Maintain strong relationships with VIP guests, repeat guests, and key accounts to support loyalty and repeat visitation. 
• Build, lead, and retain a high-performing rooms division team through strong hiring, onboarding, coaching, and performance management. 
• Oversee training and development programs so teams feel confident, informed, and equipped to deliver at the highest level. 
• Set clear goals, conduct performance reviews, and address performance issues with consistency, professionalism, and care. 
• Foster a culture of professionalism, accountability, inclusion, and genuine hospitality. 
• Ensure uniform, grooming, and presentation standards are consistently upheld across all guest-facing teams. 
• Reinforce a strong culture of safety through daily leadership, training, and compliance. 
• Ensure the division operates in full compliance with all health and safety, labor, legal, and regulatory requirements. 
• Support the implementation of capital improvement projects affecting guest rooms and related areas, in alignment with the property’s five-year capital plan. 

Knowledge, Requirements and Skills

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent required 
• At least four (4) years of supervisory experience in Front Office/Housekeeping/Guest Services required 
• Advanced knowledge of the principles and practices within the Rooms discipline and hospitality profession, including experiential knowledge for management of people and complex problems 
• Thorough knowledge of federal, state and local laws governing equal employment opportunity and civil right, occupational safety and health, wage and hour issues, and labor relations 
• Must possess supervisory and management skills to communicate and express ideas and directives clearly to employees 
• Strong ability in using MS Office (MS Excel and MS Word, in particular), Outlook, and Opera 
• Basic knowledge of computer accounting programs 
• Math skills as well as budgetary analysis capabilities required  
• Hotel Property Management System knowledge 
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills 
• Excellent reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English Language 
• Fluency in Spanish is a plus  
• Excellent organizational and time management skills 
• Excellent attention to detail 
• Ability to multitask 
• Work well under pressure, be a team player
