Job Summary:

Performs specialized Surgical Technologist duties in the CVOR (Cardiovascular Operating Room) to support high-quality cardiac and thoracic procedures. Ensures sterile environment and accurate instrument management, contributing to successful surgical outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Prepare and maintain sterile surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment specific to CVOR procedures.
  
  
• 
  Assist surgical team during procedures such as CABG, valve replacements, TAVR, and other advanced cardiac surgeries.
  
  
• 
  Manage instrument count and ensure proper handling of all surgical tools throughout procedures.
  
  
• 
  Adhere to hospital policies and unit guidelines, including dress code and documentation protocols.
  
  
• 
  Support the surgical team by providing first assist and proficiency in complex cardiovascular procedures.
  
  
• 
  Maintain a high standard of patient safety and infection control throughout operations.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Possess CST certification and BLS certification.
  
  
• 
  Demonstrate extensive experience in a CVOR setting with a focus on cardiac and thoracic surgeries.
  
  
• 
  Have a minimum of 2 years of surgical technologist experience, with proficiency in advanced cardiac procedures.
  
  
• 
  Exhibit strong knowledge of surgical instruments, equipment, and sterile techniques.
  
  
• 
  Have the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume surgical environment.
  
  
• 
  Be eligible for travel assignments, with at least 2 previous travel assignments completed.
