All qualified applicants are encouraged to apply for this continuous recruitment adjunct faculty position within the department. Applying for an adjunct appointment would add the applicant to a pool which is available to the departmental search committee for consideration in case a need arises for the academic year. When an opening occurs, the hiring manager will draw from the pool of applicants on an as needed basis. Primary duties of adjunct faculty include teaching courses in the approved discipline, providing instruction to facilitate student acquisition of the specific learning outcomes identified for the assigned courses, as well as mentoring students inside and outside of the classroom. The adjunct faculty member creates and maintains an effective learning environment in the modalities of the courses assigned. Teaching modalities may be face-to-face, hybrid, online/Zoom, or within the context of dual credit instruction. Hours vary, depending on the need and course schedule, and may include day, evening, and/or weekend instruction. All faculty members are expected to maintain familiarity with and adhere to College policies and procedures. Required Education All faculty members must provide minimum Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) credential standards which normally include an earned Master’s degree in the teaching discipline or a Master’s degree with 18 graduate semester credit hours in the teaching discipline. Transcripts, certificates, and/or license must be submitted with application. Must provide an earned Master’s Degree or higher in Education. Must provide a valid Texas teacher licensure and certification. Required Experience Minimum of three years public teaching experience with students in early childhood through 6th grade. Preferred Education Preferred Experience Experience teaching Education courses at the college-level is preferred. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Faculty are expected to provide instruction in both traditional and non-traditional learning modes and engage in instructional preparation. Provide timely feedback to students and respond to student communications in a timely manner. Assessment of student performance; including submission of final grades in a timely fashion. Maintain ethical and professional behavior. Be available to students by appointment. Attend adjunct faculty meetings. Assess courses on departmental and institutional levels. Complete any required training. Other related duties, as assigned.
