CDL A Semi-Local Truck Driver - Night Shift

Big carriers usually mean steady work and average pay. Not on this account. Drivers here have averaged $2,019 a week, about $105,000 a year, running no touch store freight out of Central New Jersey. We are hiring semi-local CDL A drivers for our Thursday to Monday night shift.

Pay Breakdown

• Mileage: $0.76 to $0.78 per mile on about 2,350 miles a week, which is $1,786 to $1,833 from miles alone before stops and bonuses
• Drop and Hook: $31 to $33 per stop
• Live Load or Unload: $40 per load
• Detention: $40 per hour after 2 hours
• Bridge Pay: $50
• Attendance Bonus: $100 per week
• Holiday Pay: $160 per day
• New Hire Training: $200 per day
• Off-Account Work: paid at the same activity rates

Schedule

• Shift: Thursday to Monday, starting between 11 PM and midnight
• Home Time: expect to get home 2 to 3 times during your work week, plus Tuesday and Wednesday off
• Peak Season: routes can change from October to January
• Holidays: a 24/7 operation with rotating 6th days around Easter, July 4th, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Holidays off are not assured

The Work

• Pick up loaded dry van or reefer trailers at customer distribution centers and deliver to retail stores across NJ, NY, CT, MA, NH and VT
• No New York City deliveries
• Third party backhauls on the way back, sometimes live load
• Intermodal or nearby account support when volume is low
• Start and end your day at our East Brunswick yard

Requirements

• At least 21 years old with a valid Class A CDL
• 3 months verifiable tractor-trailer experience in the last 6 months with one carrier, 6 months in the last 12 months, or 12 months in the last 5 years
• Reliable transportation to the yard, onboarding and training
• No more than 2 moving violations and no careless or reckless driving in the last 3 years
• No DUI/DWI in the last 5 years and no major preventable accidents in the last 3 years
• Must pass hair and urine drug testing
