Dining Services plays an important role in supporting the health, well-being, and daily experience of our students, faculty, staff, and guests.Position SummaryReporting directly to the Sous Chef, the Prep Cook is responsible for ingredient preparation and production support to ensure efficient daily kitchen operations.Key ResponsibilitiesFood PreparationWash, peel, chop, slice, portion, and prepare ingredients.Prepare sauces, dressings, soups, stocks, and other foundational recipes.Assist with bakery and dessert preparation as needed.Production SupportSet up prep stations and organize ingredients.Support cooks during peak production periods.Assist with receiving and storing deliveries.SanitationMaintain clean prep areas and equipment.Follow food safety and sanitation procedures.Physical RequirementsAbility to stand and walk for extended periods.Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.Ability to work in hot, cold, and fast-paced kitchen environments.Ability to perform repetitive motions and operate commercial kitchen equipment safely.QualificationsCalifornia Food Handler Card required.Culinary training or kitchen experience preferred.Compensation and BenefitsComprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, retirement contributions, professional development opportunities, and tuition remission benefits.Salary range: $20/hr–$26/hr annually, depending on experience and qualifications.While being vaccinated for COVID-19 is not required, it is strongly recommendedFor more information about our school, please visit the school's website:
