A Host or Hostess is responsible for greeting and seating guests, managing reservations, and ensuring a positive dining experience . They are the first point of contact for guests and play a crucial role in setting the tone for the visit. Key Responsibilities Guest Greeting: Warmly welcome guests as they enter the establishment. Reservation Management: Handle reservations, manage waitlists, and ensure efficient seating. Seating Assignments: Accompany guests to their tables and provide menus. Waitlist Management: Monitor and manage waitlists, providing accurate wait times. Customer Service: Address guest inquiries, resolve complaints, and ensure a positive dining experience. Communication: Communicate effectively with guests, servers, and other staff members. Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized seating area. Additional Responsibilities Phone Answering: Answering phones and taking reservations. Side Work: Assisting with side work, such as cleaning tables and bussing.
