Clean Room Medical Device Assembler$21/HR- $23/HR All Shift AvailableJob DescriptionThis role involves working in a clean room environment to assemble and package a variety of French catheters used in medical applications. You will perform detailed manual and microscope-based assembly, inspection, and final packaging while following strict work instructions and quality standards. The position requires strong hand dexterity, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn multiple product lines and complex build processes.ResponsibilitiesAssemble a variety of French catheters in a clean room environment, following detailed work instructions and production documentation.Perform basic assembly of catheter components, including stringing catheters, reflow processes, and building guidewires and related assemblies.Use small hand tools, tweezers, cutters, pliers, and microscopes to complete precise and complex assembly tasks.Carry out manual hand assembly tasks such as braiding, stretching, and pulling catheters by hand, maintaining consistency and quality throughout the process.Work through multi-stage builds, including catheters with up to 17 different assembly stages, ensuring each step meets quality and safety requirements.Conduct visual inspection of components and finished products, both with the naked eye and under a microscope, to identify defects or nonconformities.Perform final packaging of completed catheters and related medical devices, ensuring correct labeling, packing, and adherence to clean room standards.Follow clean room protocols, including gowning procedures and contamination control, to maintain a controlled and compliant production environment.Adhere to all work instructions, standard operating procedures, and quality guidelines related to medical device assembly and inspection.Collaborate with team members and leads to meet production goals, support continuous improvement, and flex across different product lines and assemblies as needed.Participate in cross-training across various assembly areas and product types to increase versatility and support changing business needs.Use basic computer skills to record production data, follow electronic work instructions, and complete required documentation.Support general production, packaging, and inspection activities as assigned to ensure smooth workflow and on-time delivery.Commit to working the assigned 2nd shift schedule and comply with all contract role requirements, including signing required lock-down documentation prior to starting.Essential SkillsAt least 6+ months of medical assembly experience, preferably with catheter assemblies.At least 6+ months of experience using a microscope for assembly and inspection tasks.At least 6+ months of experience using basic hand tools such as tweezers, cutters, and pliers in a production or assembly environment.Demonstrated hand dexterity and comfort with detailed manual/hand assembly work, including braiding, stretching, and pulling components.Ability and willingness to learn and be cross-trained across multiple product lines and assembly areas.Basic computer skills to navigate work instructions, record data, and complete documentation.Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly with coworkers and leads.Comfort working in a clean room environment with strict gowning and cleanliness requirements.Ability to follow detailed work instructions and quality procedures consistently.Willingness to work a 2nd shift schedule (Monday–Thursday, 3:00 p.m.–1:30 a.m.) on a contract basis through at least August 2026, with potential for extension based on business needs.Additional Skills & QualificationsPrevious experience in medical device assembly, clean room assembly, or catheter/guidewire assembly.Experience with microscope assembly work and visual inspection in a regulated environment.Familiarity with medical device production, packaging, and inspection processes.Comfort working with multiple build stages and complex assemblies in a production setting.Experience following formal work instructions and documentation within a quality-controlled environment.Ability to adapt to repetitive tasks once trained while maintaining focus and quality.Interest in growing into higher-level roles such as advanced assembler, R&D assembler, lead, inspector, or trainer as opportunities arise.Willingness to sign required lock-down documentation prior to starting, in line with facility policies.Why Work Here?You join a growing organization that offers a clear and structured career path, with defined levels and opportunities to move into advanced, R&D, lead, inspector, and trainer roles as you develop your skills. The facility is expanding, offering a modern and growing production space. Clean room protocols include full gowning requirements such as smocks, hair nets, and protective glasses to maintain a controlled and contamination-free environment. Daily work involves the use of microscopes, small hand tools, tweezers, cutters, and pliers, as well as adherence to detailed work instructions and visual inspection standards. The role is on 2nd shift, Monday through Thursday from 3:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m., with an additional shift differential added to the base hourly rate. These positions are structured as contract roles through the end of August 2026, with the possibility of extension based on business needs, and require signing specific lock-down documentation prior to starting.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Maplewood, MN.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
