Customer Service Representative (Call Center)
An established insurance provider based in Freeport, NY, is seeking a reliable, customer-focused Customer Service Representative to join their busy call center team on a temp-to-hire basis. In this role, you will serve as a primary point of contact for policyholders, brokers, and claimants, handling incoming inquiries with professionalism, efficiency, and empathy.
Location: Freeport, NY (100% On-Site)
Schedule: Monday Friday, 9:00 AM 5:00 PM
Position Type: Temp-to-Hire
Pay Rate: $20.00 $22.00+/hour (Depending on Experience)
Key Responsibilities
- Handle high-volume inbound phone calls in a fast-paced call center setting.
- Assist customers with inquiries regarding policy details, coverage, claim status, and general account information.
- Accurately enter and update client details, call notes, and documentation into the internal database.
- De-escalate customer concerns and resolve issues promptly with a professional, solution-oriented approach.
- Route complex inquiries or claims to the appropriate internal departments and follow up as necessary.
- Adhere to call center metrics, attendance guidelines, and quality standards.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: Prior customer service or inbound call center experience required (experience within insurance or financial services is a strong plus).
- Communication: Excellent verbal communication and active listening skills.
- Technical Skills: Comfortable navigating CRM/database systems, dual-screen setups, and standard office software.
- Schedule & Reliability: Punctual and able to work on-site in Freeport, NY, Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
- Professional Demeanor: Calm under pressure with a strong commitment to quality service and teamwork.
