Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Step into a meaningful role dedicated to supporting young learners in a K-2 Life Skills classroom for the 2026/2027 school year. This full-time contract position runs from 7:45AM to 4PM and is located near West Chester, PA. Special Education Teachers passionate about making a positive impact will find this opportunity both fulfilling and rewarding.
Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teaching credential/certification
- Experience with or strong interest in K-2 student populations
- Knowledge of life skills curriculum and individualized educational plans (IEPs)
- Ability to adapt lessons and communication to meet diverse learner needs
- Strong collaboration skills for working with fellow educators, therapists, and families
- Compassionate, patient, and committed to fostering student growth and independence
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and specialized support for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities in K-2
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate with classroom aides, related service providers, and general education teachers
- Create a safe, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
- Regularly communicate with parents/guardians about student progress
- Track data and adjust instruction to promote maximum growth in life skills and academic areas
- Participate in team meetings and professional development as needed
