Senior Tax Accountant

Role Description The Senior Tax Accountant is a full‑time, on‑site role located in Aurora, OH, responsible for managing tax engagements, and supporting clients with comprehensive tax planning. This role also will be responsible for reviewing staff work and assisting with our business clients with their bookkeeping. Day‑to‑day tasks include preparing and reviewing individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations. The role involves helping our business clients make needed bookkeeping adjustments to their internal financial reports, identifying tax issues and opportunities, and advising clients on strategies to minimize tax liabilities. The Senior Tax Accountant will also assist in year‑end closing activities for many of our business clients. This position may include mentoring junior staff and contributing to process improvements within the firm. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong skills in Tax Compliance and Tax Preparation, with experience handling a variety of tax returns. Candidates should possess a solid understanding of Tax regulations and principles, including federal, state, and local tax laws. Candidates should possess skills in Financial Statements analysis and preparation, supporting accurate reporting and tax planning. Candidates should possess a strong foundation in general ledger management. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or eligibility is preferred. Several years of progressive tax accounting experience, ideally in a public accounting or similar firm environment. Proficiency with tax and accounting software (CCH Pro-Fx, QuickBooks), and strong MicroSoft Office technology skills. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to multi‑task and manage multiple deadlines. Ability to work on‑site in Aurora, OH and collaborate effectively in a team‑oriented teaching environment.
