- Master's Degree from an accredited educational institution.
- Valid Alabama certification in Educational Leadership, School Principal or Professional School Principal, or Administration and Supervision.
- Three (3) years classroom teaching experience and/or administrative experience.
- Must meet background clearance requirements as specified by Alabama statutes and State Board of Education regulations.

- Demonstrate commitment to and support for the vision and mission of the system and school.
- Assist in developing, implementing, and evaluating instructional programs and activities at the assigned school.
- Assist the principal in providing an atmosphere conducive to learning and teaching.
- Assist in coordinating the selection and acquisition of instructional materials and equipment.
- Assist in coordinating and supervising all testing programs at the school
- Assist the principal in selecting, supervising, and evaluating school-based personnel.
- Assist the principal in developing and coordinating policies and procedures for the operation of the school program and services.
- Facilitate the implementation of the code of student conduct in accordance with school and system policy to ensure a safe and orderly learning environment and appropriate disciplinary procedures.
- Assist with the development and implementation of an effective staff development program.
- Assist in overseeing programs for students with identified special needs, e.g., Special Education, ESL, and 504.
- Assist in developing and implementing family and community involvement programs and business partnerships.
- Analyze student performance data as a basis for curriculum improvement and staff development needs.
- Assist in the selection and supervision of substitute personnel.
- Assist in developing and monitoring the school budget.
- Assist in managing student accounting and attendance procedures.
- Prepare or oversee the preparation of required reports and maintain all appropriate records.
- Counsel with students, parents and staff to resolve problems and concerns.
- Maintain visibility and accessibility on the school campus and at school-related activities and extra-curricular events.
- Collaborate with school and system personnel in planning and implementing system initiatives.
- Assist in developing and implementing positive public relations for the school.
- Assist the principal in the development of procedures for dealing with school crises.
- Investigate student accidents and other incidents and take appropriate action.
- Aid with the local school guidance program.
- Assist in the development of the school's master schedule.
- Assist in the supervision of loading and unloading of buses.
- Improve skills and knowledge through in-service and other professional development programs.
- Assume other reasonable job-related duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
- Knowledge of laws, regulations, and policies governing education in state and system.
- Knowledge of curriculum, instructional programs and best practices for appropriate grade level.
- Willingness to learn budgetary and supervisory responsibilities.
- Ability to work with people in an effective manner.
- Knowledge of scheduling and supervision.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to plan, organize, and establish priorities.
- Ability to use data in the decision-making process.
- Demonstrate interpersonal styles and methods to guide individuals and groups toward task accomplishment.
- Ability to facilitate problem solving by individuals and groups.
- Ability to use technology resources in records, management, curriculum and the total school program.
- Ability to be punctual and in regular attendance.
- Sufficient strength, agility and dexterity to perform all required tasks.
- Demonstrate high standards of professional conduct.
