Speech Language Pathologist

The Orchards at Northwest is looking to add a Full-Time SLP to its incredible team! The ideal candidate will have experience working with geriatric populations and a strong background in speech therapy. This role involves assessing, diagnosing, and treating communication in geriatric Patients with a focus on Skilled and Long Term Care strategies to support their quality of life. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive assessments of speech and language abilities in geriatric patients Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient assessments and needs. Implement evidence-based speech therapy techniques to improve communication skills. Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary. Provide education and support to families regarding communication strategies and resources. Stay current with developments in the field of speech-language pathology, including new therapies and techniques. Skills Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to speech-language pathology. Proficiency in patient assessment techniques for effective diagnosis and treatment planning. Understanding of anatomy and physiology as it relates to speech and language functions. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with patients and families.
