About the Opportunity

Prado & Renteria CPAs is a Chicago-based CPA firm serving nonprofit organizations, government entities, corporations, and privately held businesses. We are seeking an Experienced Auditor to join our Audit team and take on meaningful responsibility across a diverse client base.

What You'll Do

• Perform audit procedures for nonprofit, government, corporate, and privately held clients.
• Test account balances, transactions, and supporting documentation.
• Evaluate internal controls and identify areas of risk or non-compliance.
• Prepare clear, complete, and well-organized audit workpapers.
• Analyze financial information and audit evidence to support conclusions.
• Communicate with client personnel to obtain information and resolve audit questions.
• Identify audit issues and assist in developing recommendations for management.
• Take ownership of assigned audit areas and communicate progress, issues, and deadlines to the engagement team.
• Collaborate with Managers, Senior Auditors, and other team members throughout engagements.
• Participate in special projects, training programs, networking opportunities, and firm initiatives.
• Continue developing technical, analytical, and client-service skills through on-the-job experience and formal training.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
• 2+ years of public accounting or external audit experience.
• Experience performing audit procedures and preparing audit workpapers.
• Working knowledge of GAAP and GAAS.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet engagement deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to work collaboratively with team members and communicate professionally with clients.
• CPA eligibility or progress toward the CPA credential is a plus.
