Surgical Coordinator (SOSMA) - Full-time

Surgical Scheduler

Scheduled weekly hours: 40

Monday - Friday (7:30am - 4pm)

This position is responsible for the successful completion of the surgical scheduling process for patients requiring elective surgery at Sturdy Memorial Hospital.

Required Skills/Qualifications/Training/Experience:

• Three to five years previous experience in medical office.
• Command of verbal and written English; positive interpersonal communication skills and good organizational skills.
• Understanding of referral and prior authorization process.
• Demonstrates strong organizational skills
• Able to work collaboratively with surgeons, the hospital surgical schedulers, and the PCP's office staff
• Ability to effectively communicate with patients

Preferred Skills/Qualifications/Training/Experience:

• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Computer skills
• Knowledge of physician appointments and schedule management.
• Ability to work independently

Educational Requirements:

• High school graduate or equivalent; two year Associates degree or equivalent experience.

License/Certification: N/A

Salary Range: $19.85-$30.05
