Job Summary
Intensive Care Unit Cardiovascular (ICU OH) Nurse San Antonio, Texas.
The healthcare provider will deliver routine and complex nursing care within an intensive care setting, using the nursing process to assess patient needs and provide appropriate interventions and education. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details

• Schedule: Nights, 7PM - 7AM, 40 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (preferred); RN license in Texas (or compact); Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association (AHA) only); Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (American Heart Association (AHA) only); Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (American Heart Association (AHA) only)
• Preferred Qualifications: 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty; 1 year of experience in a Critical Care setting
• Additional Information: Temp to perm possible. Pediatric cardiac experience is required, including chest tubes, pacing wires, ventilators, and vasoactive infusions.
• Responsibilities:
  • Provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation) for assigned patients, consistent with the American Nurses Association (ANA) Scope and Standards of Practice.
  • Administers medications and treatments using the appropriate protocol and monitors for side effects and effectiveness.
  • Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
  • Addresses psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with the level of practice.
  • Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identifies issues and available resources.
  • Meets applicable competencies related to leadership (Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders).
