Invasive Cardiovascular Tech/Surgical Scrub Tech

GENERAL DUTIES

Registers cardiology patients by confirming patient identification and reviewing consultation requests for invasive cardiovascular procedures. Assists with diagnostic and interventional cases including PTCA, stents, IVUS, angioplasty, cutting balloon, IABP, permanent pacemaker insertion or defibrillator insertion, among other procedures. Manipulates hemodynamic recording/procedural record equipment. Scrubs as needed per case requirements. Chooses correct order codes for tests performed and submits charges. Maintains both automated and hard copy logs and assures that supply and procedure charges are submitted. Maintains equipment, work area, and adequate supplies. Maintains good radiation safety; in‑services are provided by cardiovascular/X‑ray tech as needed. Coordinates work schedule with departmental leader to assure workload coverage. Assumes responsibility for the safety, mental and physical comfort of patients while they are in the invasive lab department.

QUALIFICATIONS

Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (CPR, BLS) – American Heart Association (Required) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – American Heart Association (Preferred, obtained within six (6) months of hire) Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) – Cardiovascular Credentialing Institute (Preferred)
