Job Description
Rogue Community College is seeking an experienced transportation professional to provide classroom and hands-on instruction for students enrolled in our Commercial Driver License (CDL) training program. This is a part-time, as-needed instructional position with classes scheduled throughout the year.
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging classroom and behind-the-wheel instruction.
- Teach students safe operation of commercial vehicles and applicable state and federal regulations.
- Prepare students for CDL skills testing and successful employment in the transportation industry.
- Evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain accurate attendance and student records.
- Ensure a safe learning environment and model professional driving practices.
Minimum Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record.
- At least three years of recent commercial driving experience.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with students from diverse backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous teaching, training, or mentoring experience.
- Current or previous CDL instructor certification.
- Familiarity with FMCSA regulations and Oregon CDL requirements.
