Senior Trial Attorney

- Represent insured individuals and the Company in bodily injury and property damage lawsuits
- Prepare for and conduct hearings, trials, arbitrations, mediations, and depositions
- Prepare and present pre- and post-trial motions
- Assist colleagues in resolving calendar conflicts
- Advise business clients on day-to-day legal matters
- Manage projects and coordinate among legal teams
- Monitor and evaluate new laws, regulations, and case law
- Identify and summarize relevant legal issues
- Collaborate with the Law and Regulation department
- Advise business units on the impact of new laws
- Monitor legal representation
Requirements
- Juris Doctorate
- Active membership in good standing with the New York State Bar
- 5+ years of litigation experience or strong litigation-type skills
- First or second chair jury trial experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Proficiency in LexisNexis preferred
- Internet research proficiency
- Ability to manage complex disputes and work effectively under pressure
- Ability to collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and administrative assistants under the guidance of Lead Counsel
- Capacity to manage a substantial case load
- Comfortable working in a remote environment
- Willingness to travel throughout Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan, and Long Island for court appearances
- Background investigation required
- Reliable internet with minimum speeds of 50 MB download and 5 MB upload
- Dedicated, private home workspace with appropriate desk and seating
- Allstate generally does not sponsor individuals for employment-based visas for this position
