Location: Torrance, CA Division: Road US Job Posting Title: Carrier Sales Representative, Road US Time Type: Full Time Summary The Carrier Sales Representative plays a key role within the Road US brokerage team, responsible for sourcing, securing, and managing carrier capacity to support DSV’s freight operations. This position builds and maintains strong carrier partnerships to deliver superior service, competitive pricing, and reliable transportation solutions for our customers. The role involves daily carrier engagement, load coordination, rate negotiation, and proactive shipment tracking from pickup through final delivery to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. Duties & Responsibilities Source, negotiate, and secure carriers and drivers to cover available freight in a cost-effective and service-focused manner. Manage daily dispatch operations, ensuring accurate communication of shipment details to carriers. Track and monitor shipments from pickup through delivery, providing timely updates to internal teams and customers. Collect and verify all carrier documentation for on-time shipment closeout and billing. Build, develop, and maintain long-term carrier relationships to strengthen capacity reliability and responsiveness. Collaborate with Account Managers to provide operational support, pricing input, and customer updates as needed. Assist with customer service and account management functions to ensure consistent communication and successful delivery performance. Stay informed on current market conditions, rate trends, and seasonal fluctuations to ensure competitive pricing. Generate new carrier leads and onboard qualified partners to expand DSV’s carrier network. Proactively identify and resolve shipment or service issues, using sound judgment and effective problem-solving. Perform additional duties and project work as assigned. Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred. Minimum 1 year of experience in logistics, freight brokerage, or customer service (3+ years preferred). Minimum 1 year of carrier sales experience with a focus on drayage (3+ years preferred). Strong understanding of transportation and drayage operations, including carrier regulations and best practices. Skills & Competencies Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Teams, PowerPoint); advanced Excel skills preferred. Experience using Transportation Management Systems (TMS). Strong negotiation, persuasion, and relationship-building abilities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus. Analytical thinker with strong mathematical aptitude for pricing and rate analysis. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Thrives under pressure and demonstrates a strong sense of urgency and accountability. Positive, motivated, and team-oriented with the ability to work independently and collaboratively. Professional phone presence and effective interpersonal communication skills. Physical Demands & Work Environment Work is primarily sedentary and performed in an office or remote setting, requiring frequent use of a computer, phone, and other standard office equipment. Some movement, such as standing, walking, or light lifting (up to 15 pounds), may be necessary to perform daily tasks or support on-site recruiting events. The role may occasionally require travel to driver terminals, job fairs, or other recruiting locations, which could involve extended periods of standing or walking. Hours may be extended or staggered to support multi-shift recruiting needs and to maintain communication with candidates across time zones. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will regularly use their hands for typing and handling documents, as well as engage in frequent talking and listening. Specific vision abilities required include close and distance vision and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate. The role is exposed to little fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals. Compensation & Benefits For this position, the expected base pay range is $70,500.00 – $80,500.00 Annual. Actual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location, in accordance with applicable laws and company policy.
