Urgent Care Vet Panama City is seeking an experienced, **credentialed Veterinary Technician** to join our team. We provide urgent, sometimes emergency care, to the pets of our community, and we're looking for a skilled tech who thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment and is confident handling critical cases. Just as important, we value techs who connect with pet owners — clearly explaining diagnoses, treatment plans, cost, and care instructions, offering compassion and reassurance during stressful moments. What You'll Do

- Provide hands-on nursing care to urgent, critically ill, and post surgical patients

- Monitor and manage patients under anesthesia, including induction, monitoring, and recovery

- Triage incoming cases and assist veterinarians during urgent, emergency, and routine procedures

- Place IV catheters, administer medications, and perform venipuncture

- Run and interpret in-house diagnostics (bloodwork, radiographs, etc.)

- Dispense veterinarian prescribed medications and provide accurate medication education to clients

- Maintain accurate medical records, estimates, and invoices

- Communicate clearly with the care team and pet owners

- Educate and update pet owners on diagnoses, treatment plans, estimates, invoices and payment options

- Provide compassionate, reassuring client communication during emergencies and difficult conversations

- Discharge hospitalized pets and provide accurate client education for care at home and follow-up

- Uphold a clean, safe, and well-stocked treatment area

Required Qualifications

- **Active Florida CVT credential** (or RVT/LVT eligible for Florida certification)

- Graduate of an **AVMA-accredited** veterinary technology program

- Passing **VTNE** (Veterinary Technician National Exam) status

- **Demonstrated experience in critical care**

- **Demonstrated experience in anesthesia** — monitoring, drug protocols, and recovery

- Strong clinical judgment and the ability to stay calm under pressure

- Excellent client communication skills — able to explain medical information clearly and compassionately to pet owners

- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills

Preferred Skills

- Prior emergency or urgent care experience

- Proficiency with dental procedures, advanced imaging, or specialty nursing

- Comfort training and mentoring assistants or newer techs
