Payroll Specialist

One of the world's largest building-materials suppliers is seeking a detail-oriented, service-focused Payroll Specialist in Bothell, WA. Compensation: $29-$32/hr Availability: Monday 6 am start time; Tuesday-Friday, after training, flexible start time between 6:00 am and 9:00am. 40-hour workweek. In this role, you will help ensure payroll is processed accurately and on time for employees across multiple locations. You'll maintain payroll data integrity, support compliance, resolve discrepancies, and provide responsive service to employees and managers. What You'll Be Doing Manage daily timekeeping and weekly payroll processes with precision and confidentiality Review payroll data, identify discrepancies, and resolve issues in collaboration with employees, managers, and internal stakeholders. Maintain payroll records and employee data while ensuring compliance with federal, state, provincial, and company requirements. Respond to employee payroll inquiries and provide exceptional customer service and support. Generate payroll reports, analyze information, and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy. What Are We Looking For Payroll or timekeeping experience preferred. Training will be provided for strong candidates without prior experience. Demonstrated ability to process payroll accurately while managing multiple priorities and deadlines. Strong knowledge of payroll practices, compliance requirements, and confidential data handling. Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Teams, along with experience with payroll systems or HRIS platforms such as Kronos and JDE, is a plus. Prevailing wage experience is a plus, but not required Adaptable and able to shift priorities as needed. Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships. Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion. This position is primarily performed in an office environment with regular use of computers, payroll systems, and standard office equipment.
